"Yugen"
is at the core of appreciation
of beauty and art in Japan.
It values the power to evoke,
rather than the ability to state directly.
The concept that inspires the design of this house comes from the intersection of minimalist thinking with the Japanese aesthetic ideal of Yugen.
With straight and clean lines, simple and geometric shapes, exposed structural materials such as weathered steel, blackened concrete, charred wood, and glass, the volume of the house is nothing more than a neutral shell, where in addition to finding refuge and satisfying the needs of the modern living, it is possible to contemplate the surrounding landscape thanks to the alternation of open volumes and spaces enclosed by a totally glazed perimeter that blurs the conventional boundaries between inside and outside. Furthermore, according to the principles of biophilic design, the interiors are characterized by the use of natural materials, natural light, and an abundance of greenery that will define a more pleasing and effective environment for the end-users.
Materials

while ceilings are slightly lighter as the walls in the picture below
The cladding of the walls and kitchen blocks are in charred wood
